Serene and beautiful, inside and out. Shanti-Alegria is quietly magnificent! Built in 2000, architect-designed home with spectacular ocean and tropical landscape vista (shore is about 1/2mile away. House sits on hill 400 feet above sea-level.

Vast open-plan living room, dining-room, and kitchen with pantry. Beautiful décor and well furnished. Floors throughout main level are Chinese golden bamboo, Italian stucco walls. Lounge and dining room have high wood-beam ceilings. Satellite TV and high-speed wireless internet connection. Outside the living room is a very large and mostly covered lanai (veranda). There is also a flower and shrub-surrounded ocean-view hot-tub, served by hot-and-cold outdoor shower.

Below the main living area is another living room, bathroom and two elegant bedrooms, one with king- and one with queen-size bed. One full bath, one half bath and an outdoor shower.

The house is surrounded by flowering plants including hibiscus, night-blooming jasmine, roses, bougainvillea, gardenia and many other native shrubs, palms, bamboo and fruit-trees.

150-yard entrance driveway is half a mile ocean-side of the Hana Highway, the pleasant country road that skirts the north shore of Maui.

Sweet, rural neighborhood. Neighbors (none too close) are warm, friendly, not intrusive, but happy to provide help if needed.

Waterfalls and pools are a 5-minute drive away. 20-minute drive to the north shore beaches, to the popular beach town Paia, and to up-country Makawao.

The south shore with its hotels and tourist towns and beaches is about 45 minutes to an hour away. Driving the other direction from the house on the Hana Highway you are already at the beginning of the fabled scenic winding road to Hana and Kipahulu, famous for the Seven Sacred Pools, and many other pools, waterfalls and spectacular coast-line.
